As we started researching the house, we decided to model the Gehry house in 2 materials, using balsa wood to represent the existing dutch colonial house and white card to represent the new extensions to the original house. These 2 materials provide a stark contrast to which a material difference symbolises the uniqueness of the Frank Gehry house. Further more, building the model in a 1:50 scale provided sufficient room for detail to be added in, further separating the new from the old within the architecture.
